The New VMC
Building the Valley Medical Center that will serve generations to come.
When voters approved Measure A in November 2008, they did more than just make Santa Clara Valley Medical Center earthquake safe, they enabled the Santa Clara Valley Health & Hospital System to meet the growing healthcare needs of this community for decades to come. As the busiest hospital in Silicon Valley – and the only one that provides care to everyone regardless of ability to pay – new facilities are critical to the health of this community.
Thanks to Measure A, construction is already underway on the newest hospital building. Upon completion, SCVMC will add 550,000 square feet to existing capacity. The buildings will house adult acute and critical care units, in addition to the Rehabilitation Center.

While Measure A will cover the bulk of construction costs, philanthropic dollars will be needed to outfit the buildings with life-saving equipment and technologies. The opportunity to build a world-class public hospital comes once in a generation – and it's an opportunity this community cannot afford to pass up.
In the coming months, the VMC Foundation will launch a capital campaign to raise additional millions from the community. Regardless of where you go for your regular healthcare, SCVMC is your safety net. Whether due to a major emergency, natural disaster, flu pandemic or specialty care, chances are, someday you or someone you love will receive care at Valley Medical Center.
Get involved! Your contribution can leave a lasting legacy for future generations.
